What is it?
Computer-Aided Design (CAD) creates a 3D model of a crown, veneer, bridge, or implant restoration; Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) mills or prints it from that file.
What problem does it solve?
Reduces lab turnaround, improves fit accuracy, and lets the dentist modify the restoration design chairside before production.

Patients needing crowns, inlays, onlays, veneers, and some implant restorations.
What are the limitations?
Material choices depend on the milling system. Not every restoration is ideal for same-day production. Lab finishing is still common for complex esthetics.
